![]() ![]() Currently limping along with a WD Green clone of the failed drive. And they're supposed to be the best for reliability. This would be great to replace my recently failed Hitachi!! Yes, my Hitachi failed after only ~5 years. Probably the only drive in smaller sizes that is. Big caches, good speed (granted, both of which the Seagate above has) but the one y'all missed -> Guaranteed NOT SMR. Why Black? And why Black over that one you linked to that's only $70 bucks at Memory Express? Simple. Backed it up using Acronis and moved it all over. Why? To replace a failing Seagate 7200.11. I bought one of these (4TB Black with a bigger cache) for over $200 a couple of years ago. HD's are still great for archiving all kinds of stuff. All you ragers have failed to mention a few things (though some covered some, but not all of it). I upvoted this, but I never follow the crowd. ![]()
